About the Bower's Mansion Bluegrass Festival
Every August for 35 years, the beautiful Bower's Mansion Regional Park in Washoe Valley (between Reno and Carson City) has been home to a music festival like no other. BLUEGRASS music will lift your spirits, get you laughing, singing and tapping your toes! Maybe you'll even try your hand at playing a banjo at our popular, "Bluegrass Instrument Petting Zoo"! It's just plain FUN for all ages.
NEW - Friday Jam Camp, 10am to 3:30pm - Learn to Jam with others in 5 hours -- guaranteed! If you know a few chords and/or a few songs already, but are still not sure about joining a bluegrass jam, this workshop is for you! Details here
Friday, Aug. 19, 7pm - Free show featuring "Little City String Band" on the stage at the Park. No tickets necessary, but donations will be gladly accepted. Beer & wine offered for sale by Rotary Club of Reno.
Saturday, Aug. 20, 9am - Main festival gates open. All E-tickets will be exchanged for wrist bands at the gate. Or pay with cash/credit. Entertainment starts at 10:00 am (see line up here). Food trucks, Rotary's beer/wine booth, craft vendors, playground and pleny of shade. Festival wraps up by 6pm.
Sunday, Aug. 21, 10am - morning gospel music show, featuring "Sunday Go To Meetin'" at the Amphitheater in Davis Creek Regional Park, 1 mile north of Bowers Mansion. Please no alcohol for the Sunday morning show. No tickets necessary, but donations will be gladly accepted.
